The Church Care Ministry Development

Come to Me all who are weary and heavy-laden, and I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you, and learn from Me, for I am gentle and humble in heart and you shall find rest for your souls, for My yoke is easy and My load is light.

Matthew 11:28-29 (NASB)

God Does Not Waste Our Pain

Devastated!  …  On our anniversary my wife delivered me divorce papers at my workplace…  What? We were Christians, this wasn’t supposed to happen to us!  The next week I drove 40 miles from our home to attend Saddleback Church. At my second visit, before the service started, I opened the bulletin and to my amazement, there it was…  Hope for the Separated Man Support Group! What? (Again).  I never heard of such a thing.  I attended the group the following week, and after a year of healing and growth they asked me to become a leader.  16 years later I have been since, leading and teaching there each week. Moving forward, that growth led me to join and lead other church groups, even to the point of pursuing and attaining a theology degree and becoming a church supervising counselor.

Church support groups have brought so much help, healing, growth, and health to my life; and as I have witnessed, to many other lives as well.  Yet, learning through all the experience that relational problems are at the root of almost every problem, I wanted to help people prior to any major relational problems. My desire and passion became to start a Relational Support Group that would help us all learn better relational skills. After 10-years of preparation and prayer, my dream came true, as last May I was allowed to start that Relational Support Group.

I praise God for all the help, healing, growth, and health Support Groups have brought into my life, and into the lives of many.
